Colors That Improve Over Time
All Xtreme products lighten gradually over time to a beautiful seasoned tone. As with all wood materials, this weathering process will be influenced by environmental and exposure conditions and factors.
So what exactly is a ‘composite’ deck anyway?
‘Composite’ materials are defined by combining multiple components to create a new material. PC Xtreme composite decking is a combination of wood flour (ground up sawdust from the wood furniture and flooring industries) and molten plastic. By combining wood and plastic you get the best of both worlds; the natural appearance and strength of wood with the durability of plastic. In the manufacturing process, each wood fiber is completely encapsulated in plastic providing ultimate protection from the elements.
Of course it’s important to have a deck that lasts a long time, but I want something that looks like real wood.

Xtreme decking won’t rot, split, splinter or crack for any reason, including ant and termite infestation.
Will Xtreme decking change color over time? Xtreme decking will weather to some degree. How much it weathers depends on your environmental conditions, such as exposure to sunlight and other elements.
Is it easy to install?
Right from the factory Xtreme arrives ready to install. There are two preferred methods of installation: from the face with composite deck screws, or for a more finished and clean look, by utilizing the Mantis hidden fastener with the grooves that run down the sides of each board.
Can it be routered?
Xtreme routers and cuts just like natural lumber.
What about gluing Xtreme deck boards?
It is not recommended to glue Xtreme deck boards.
Or painting?
The plastic polymers found in Xtreme decking make it difficult to absorb paint or stain. It is not recommended.
How do I determine how much Xtreme decking I’ll need for my project?
Xtreme decking is manufactured in standard lumber sizes 12’, 16’ and 20’ lengths. A good rule of thumb is to take careful measurements to determine how much decking you will need and then add 10% to account for waste and mistakes. When ordering your material from your local lumber retailer, they will be happy to assist you in determining your needs as well.
Does it come with a matching railing?

Just like wood decks, Xtreme decking can also get scratched. The best way to ‘fix it’? Allow normal wear marks to fade, as they will blend in with the weathered color.
